ARE THERE WORMS IN YOUR FRUIT?
Temptation is biblically defined as a situation in which you encounter that challenges you to choose fidelity or infidelity towards God. (encyclopedia.com) Often during your spiritual journey Satan will attempt to entice you into immorality. He roars like a lion looking to devour his prey and will go to know ends to entangle you in his snare of deception, confusion, and chaos. God promised us that he came so that we can have peace and live an abundant life. God is not the author of confusion and chaos. However, temptation often happens to develop spiritual maturity.
1 Corinthians 10:13 states ” No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” God promises us that he is always with us and through his strength we have the power and ability to withstand temptation. He will permit temptation so you can understand the vices of Satan and learn to never fear him. During the spiritual but limited warfare be prepared for satan to throw everything within his power at you. He will exploit and manipulate your weakness, remind you of your past, attempt to tear down your self-esteem and confidence in God. Satan will go to know end to entice you to bite the forbidden fruit. However, through the storm there is often a inner voice that tells you something isn’t quite right, to be still and observe and learn the tatics of Satan. This is the time to observe how he moves, who he uses, and to learn his weaknesses. Satan will always use your desires to tempt you. Therefore, it is important that you learn to follow God’s will and not your will.
You may ask yourself why is this happening to me? Why is it when I was a heathen in the streets I was never tempted? However the moment I decide to walk with God here comes satan with a dossier of my past mistakes in attempt to remind who I was. God paid the price for my sins the moment he died on the cross and I am renewed through his spirit and unyielding love, grace and mercy. The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy but you have to face the lion and say I will not fear. Fear keeps you enslaved. I choose to be free. There will be times that you will feel as if you are at a Ringling Brother’s Circus you learn to find amusement in Satan’s antics you start to prepare yourself for his next act because you’ll learn evil never takes a day off. So it is important that you go to the circus because even a clown can teach you something. The valuable lesson that you learn will be apart of your testimony so you can someday share it with others. The lesson is God doesn’t give us the spirit of fear and satan’s only power is fear and as long as you are afraid of the devil you will remain in bondage. So rejoice that the devil cannot make you do anything God has all the power. God tells us we cannot serve two masters, so we are either serving faith or fear.
